dear anand
i was deeply inspired by the film. there are moments - for example, when the
pakistani schoolgirl says, hum mafi chahte hai - when one feels close to a transformative
experience. and there are moments of irony (like raja ramanna playing the moonlight
sonata and telling us the story of cows) which are more penetrating than any
political analysis of the bomb one has seen. i have to tell you how inspired
all of us felt; and everyone one of us said that one feels a sense of pride at
the achievement of war and peace. and i haven't seen any film being received
in calcutta in recent times with the enthusiasm that the young and old showed
that day at max mueller.
we would like to show the film to our students and to the larger community of
students in the university.
